Rockwool and Plywood with Taped Seams for the Interior of the Wood Kiln

In this video I insulate the Kiln. After filling the walls and ceiling with rockwool, I then sheet the inside with half inch plywood. Plywood will provide a durable surface that should last a long time. I choose not to paint the plywood to allow the wood to deal (move and breathe) with the wide range of temps and humidity it will see in the kiln. I want the plywood to be able to let any moisture forced into it to easily get back out. However, the edges/seams need to be taped to keep the fans from blowing the hot moist air directly into the walls. To do this I taped the seams with strips of blueskin VP100. The blueskin air seals the seams but also allows water vapor to move freely. Long story short, the blueskin allows any moisture which has found it's way into the walls to come back out quickly and dry, thus avoiding any mold problems. As far as the install of the tape went, this method appears to be working. The sealant on the edges is critical to keep the tape from peeling up. The primer was a disappointment. Perhaps I put it on too thin? That aquatac primer works really well on concrete with foundation waterproofing but not so much with the blueskin and plywood unless I did something wrong.
