撮影：2013年３月　宮崎駿のアニメ「もののけ姫」の舞台のモデルになったのが鹿児島県の大隅半島南南西約60kmの海上に位置する世界遺産「屋久島」。白谷雲水峡は屋久島の宮之浦川の支流、白谷川の上流にある面積423.73ヘクタールの自然休養林で、標高620メートルのところに入口があります。地元では「もののけ姫の森」と呼ばれる森の辺りは、宮崎駿監督が何度も足を運び、作品の森のイメージをつくりあげていきました。ですが残念なことに、作品に登場する豊かな森に棲むという一種の精霊のようなコダマやシシ神、山犬は、この森にはいません。 Discover NIPPON World Heritage - Yakushima island Forest of the Princess Mononoke Yakushima island off the south east coast of Kyushu in Japan. it is on the UNESCO World Heritage List. there is Forest of The Princess Mononoke that became the model of the stage of animation director Hayao Miyazaki's movie The Princess Mononoke. the Studio Ghibli animation, was inspired by the thick forests of Yakushima.
