2025 Viking British Isles Explorer - a 15 day Viking Ocean Cruise (May 5 - May 20), aboard the Viking Sky, which included stops in: London/Greenwich (2 Days); Dover; one sea day (the Irish Sea); Dublin; Holyhead; Liverpool; Belfast; Ullapool (the Highlands); Orkney Island; Edinburgh; and Aberdeen. We were scheduled to stop in the Shetland Islands, but the North Sea winds were too high to safely enter the harbor, so the Captain diverted us to Stavanger, Norway. The cruise ended in Bergen. We were in a DV level cabin, and when excursions opened, we found many were already sold out. Unbeknownst to us, the Viking Sky was several months into a 180 day world cruise when we joined the ship in London (we did not learn about the world cruise until embarkation). Obviously, those who were already on the world cruise had access to excursions long before we did. Therefore, in the words of Fleetwood Mac, it was time to "Go Your Own Way" with regards to shore excursions. We booked many of our tours privately. Those excursions which are Viking tours in this video are noted as such at the beginning of the tours. We were fortunate to experience GREAT weather for our entire trip. Outside of some grey skies in London (to be expected), we had blue skies and temperatures hovering around 70-degrees (F) in every port.
