It's a nice change to find that this unit doesn't need a button press to make it start. As soon as power is applied it starts atomising water (or other compatible liquids) from its four ultrasonic disks. Note that all the disks must be fitted before using. The circuitry needs the load of the piezo disk to avoid high open circuit voltage and the risk of damaging the transistor. On 5V it passes about 600mA of current. It might be alternating the power between MOSFET pairs to spread the current draw more evenly. Humidifiers using these modules are popular for the desks of people who find their environment too dry. They use a spring loaded wick to deliver water to a stainless steel disk with a ring of piezoelectric material on it. The disk has a dome with tiny perforations in it that allow it to atomise the water when the piezo disk oscillates at very high frequency. I'm not sure if this unit has a timeout function to turn it off and prevent long periods of running dry. This kit came from AliExpress (not a sponsor):- https://www.aliexpress.com/item/10050... It usually costs around $5, but beware of them listing just the control PCB on its own when you order. You will have to select the full kit option.
