Never before had we played in this constellation. There were lots of emotions at play which made the whole recording such a vulnerable experience. I am thankful for the opportunity and for everyone that has been involved with it. Special thanks to the audience members for being present and sharing the space with me. Most of the songs have been written in the last two years; in different countries and cities in the world. From Addis Abeba to Groningen, Berlin and Amsterdam. They came to me in jam sessions, through requests of other people, through heartbreak, feeling smitten, life lessons and feeling connected to what's around and within us. I am happy to have been able to record the album with a good friend of mine called Rory Ronde on guitar, whom I have come to see as a family member. He has been part of my musical journey for a long time in ways that I can not even always fathom with my conscious mind. On the flute we have living legend Ronald Snijders. A man who has such a longstanding successful musical career. Who still plays with so much joy. Who has been brave enough to have put out so many musical records. I am inspired by your creativity.
