For more info, send mail to: [email protected] There were some talented muso's at Glossop High School, enough to have the School Concert Band (you know the type), Mirror Image (a Beatles type rock'n'roll quintet), Dazed & Confused (a rockin' AC/DC / Zeppelin type trio), and then there was us........ ZirconiuM - a group of musically challenged kids who couldn't play covers of any kind so we wrote songs the best we could the way we liked. Sure we loved listening to the classics, but when we heard bands like G.A.S.H., Depression, plus especially the Arm The Insane album Remember and Nuclear Assault album Game Over we developed a thicker skin for fending off the insults from the talented lot. Eventually, after much persistence we were allowed to rehearse at lunch times in the school music room, and to say thank you, we put on a benefit show during a lunch to raise money for the needy. I believe it was this show that may have inspired another band, the Bloodsucking Freaks.
