Puros Santa Clara 1830 Robusto 5 X 50 Cigar Review. Tasting Notes: The stick starts off with notes of toasted nuts, coffee, white pepper & an underlying subtle spiciness. The draw is quite nice and produces a lot of smoke. Your palate will be covered with rich creamy & spicy flavors. The finish is very flavorful, but not overwhelming. The smoke continues to develop nicely threw the middle third. More of an earthy, woody & rich spiciness hits the palate now. Black pepper is now coming to the forefront of flavors. Lastly, after removing the band, the final third has strong notes of black pepper and spice in the smoke while still maintaining a creaminess on the palate. The unmistakable spicy flavor of Mexican tobacco is on full display from start to finish with this cigar. Santa Clara rates this as a medium bodied smoke & I'd definitely agree with that as well.
