Bakelite, copper and brass! The AVO Model 8 Mark 2 analog moving-coil multimeter, made in June 1960. This was the ubiquitous electrical test meter in the UK for decades, seen in schools, industry and the armed forces. In this teardown video, I open up the Bakelite casing to reveal the brass and copper internals. No PCBs here! All hand-assembled point-to-point wiring. What the video cannot convey is the smell of grease and varnish inside this meter. I have many other AVO meters (including the previously-seen AVO DA211) and will take more of them apart in later videos if there's interest.
