Coolpix P610 - Shooting Video Tutorial

A viewer has requested some suggestions for shooting quality video with the Nikon Coolpix P610 so I produced this video to show the variety that the P610 is capable of. For the best quality video, I suggest using the 1080-60p video setting. Not only does it produce the cleanest video when there is any significant action, it also allows more flexibility for changing speed and zooming or panning during post processing. Today's memory chips are fairly inexpensive, so storage shouldn't be a problem. If you must take a single long scene rather than several short scenes, you can maximize recording time and still get good quality with 720-30p. The slow motion and fast motion modes provide for some special types of recording. Using the Scene mode in Time-lapse produces some interesting videos, too. However, they are not shot in the video mode of the camera. Recording the activities on the camera was done with a Panasonic HC-V250 camcorder. All other segments were shot with the Nikon Coolpix P610. Video was assembled with Sony Movie Studio. Sound was recorded with either the camcorder or the P610. Four video clips were time-stretched or zoomed to compare modes.
