하나님은 먹을 것으로 불평하고 원망하는 이스라엘에게 만나와 메추라기를 주시고, 노예에서 하나님의 자녀로의 새로운 신분 교육도 시키셨습니다. 훈련은 우선 두 가지로, 첫째는 만나를 필요한 만큼 가져와 먹고 여섯째 날은 갑절로 가져와 다음 안식일을 준비하는 훈련이었습니다. 둘째는 더 중요한 것입니다. 만나로만 사는 것이 아니라 하나님의 입에서 나오는 모든 말씀으로 살아야 함을 깨닫도록 훈련시키셨습니다. 이스라엘에게 원망과 불평이 사라지고 마음에 다시 평화와 기쁨이 찾아왔습니다. 새로운 마음으로 구름기둥과 불기둥이 인도하는 대로 따라나섰고 신광야에서 르비딤에 도착해 말씀대로 장막을 쳤습니다. 모든 백성들은 장막을 치라 한곳에 쳤으므로 여기에는 물이 풍부할 줄 알았습니다. 그런데 기대와는 달리 물 한 모금 없었습니다. 이스라엘은 모세를 원망했습니다. “당신이 어찌하여 우리를 애굽에서 인도해 내어서 우리와 우리 자녀와 우리 가축이 목말라 죽게 하느냐?”(3). 모세는 “‘내가 이 백성에게 어떻게 하리이까? 그들이 조금 있으면 내개 돌을 던지겠나이다”(4)라며 하나님께 나아갔습니다. 하나님은 “이스라엘 장로들을 데리고 나일 강을 치던 네 지팡이를 잡고 호렙산으로 가라” 그러면 “내가 호렙 산에 있는 그 반석 위 거기서 네 앞에 서리니 너는 그 반석을 치라 그것에서 물이 나오리니 백성이 마시리라”(5-6)고 말씀하셨습니다. 위 말씀에서 중요한 것은 하나님이 반석 위에 서 계시고 모세가 그 반석을 친다는 말씀입니다. 구약성경에서 반석은 하나님 자신을 가르치고 있습니다(신32:4; 15, 18, 31; 시78:35; 95:1). 그러므로 모세가 반석을 친다는 말씀은 반석 위에 서 계신 하나님을 친다는 뜻입니다. 하나님께서는 모세를 돌로 쳐 죽이려는 백성들에게 아무 말씀도 하지 않으시고 자신이 대신하여 모세의 채찍에 맞으시고 물이 나오게 하셨습니다. 백성들을 대신하여 채찍에 맞은 반석은 우리 죄를 대신하여 채찍에 맞으신 예수 그리스도를 예표합니다. 바울은 이 사실을 다음과 같이 가르치고 있습니다. “형제들아 나는 너희가 알지 못하기를 원하지 아니하노니 우리 조상들이 다 구름 아래에 있고 바다 가운데로 지나며 모세에게 속하여 구름과 바다에서 세례를 받고 다 같은 신령한 음식을 먹으며 신령한 음료를 마셨으니 이는 그들을 따르는 신령한 반석으로부터 마셨으매 그 반석은 곧 그리스도라”(고전10:1-4)고 하셨습니다. 바울도 모세에게 맞으시며 반석에서 물을 내 목마른 백성들에게 주셨던 그 하나님은 예수 그리스도라고 가르치시고 있습니다. 하나님은 이스라엘을 책망보다는 사랑으로 품으시며 가나안으로 인도하고 계십니다. 예수님도 죄를 책망하시기보다는 우리를 대신해 채찍에 맞으시며 나에게 와서 믿고 거듭나라고 말씀하십니다. 사랑의 하나님! 하나님의 사랑과 크신 은혜에 정말 감사드립니다. 하나님의 사랑을 깨달아 알고, 믿고 자녀가 되도록 도와주소서! 주님을 사랑합니다. 주님을 찬양하며 소망합니다. 오늘도 주님을 더 사랑하도록 도와주소서!! 예수님의 이름으로 기도드립니다. 아멘!! QT sharing Text: Exodus 17:1-7 Title: Hit the rock and let the water come out God gave manna and quail to Israel who complained and resentful for food. And he also taught a new status of being a child of God from slavery. The training was first of all two things. The first was training to bring manna as needed, eat it, and prepare for the next Sabbath day by bringing it to double on the sixth day. The second is more important. He trained people to realize that they must live not only with ma Manna, but with all the words that come out of God's mouth. Israel's resentment and complaining are now gone. Peace and joy came back to my heart. With a new mind, they followed as the Pillars of Cloud and Pillars of Fire led them. Israel arrived at Rephidim from the wilderness of Sin and pitched their tents according to the word. All the people put their tents in one place, so they knew that there would be plenty of water here. But contrary to expectations, there was no sip of water. Therefore, Israel grumbled against Moses. “Why did you bring us up out of Egypt to make us and our children and our livestock die of thirst?” (3). At this time, Moses went to God. And “Moses cried out to the Lord and said,' What am I to do with these people? If they are almost ready to stone me”(4). At this time, God said to Moses, "Take with you some of the elders of Israel and take in your hand the staff with which you struck the Nile and go." Then, "I will stand there before you by the rock at Horeb. Strike the rock, and water will come out of it for the people to drink” (5-6). The important thing in the above words is that God is standing on the rock and Moses strikes the rock. In the Old Testament, the rock teaches God Himself (Deut. 32:4; 15, 18, 31; Psalm 78:35; 95:1). Therefore, when Moses strikes the rock, it means that Moses strikes God standing on the rock. God did not say anything to the people who were trying to stone Moses to death, but he was struck by Moses' whip in his place and water came out of it. The rock that was struck on behalf of the people antitype of Jesus Christ, struck for our sins. Paul teaches this fact: “For I do not want you to be ignorant of the fact, brothers, that our forefathers were all under the cloud and that they all passed through the sea. They were all baptized into Moses in the cloud and in the sea. They all ate the same spiritual food and drank the same spiritual drink; for they drank from the spiritual rock that accompanied them, and that rock was Christ” (1 Corinthians 10:1-4). Paul also teaches that Jesus Christ is the God who met Moses and gave water to thirsty people by making water out of the rock. God embraces Israel with love rather than rebuke and is leading them to Canaan. Rather than rebuke us for our sins, Jesus is beaten on our behalf and tells us to come and believe in me and be born again. Dear God! Thank you so much for God's love and great grace.
