Т-34-85 VS Panzerkampfwagen V | tank physics mobile | Simulation of the tank Panzerkampfwagen V Panther, (PzKpfw V) is a German tank of the Second World War period. Developed by MAN in 1941–1942 as the main tank of the Wehrmacht. According to the German classification, the "Panther" was considered a medium tank. In the Soviet tank classification, "Panther" was considered a heavy tank, it was called T-5 or T-V. In the departmental system of designations of military equipment of Nazi Germany, the "Panther" had the index Sd.Kfz. 171. Starting from February 27, 1944, the Führer ordered to use only the name "Panther" to designate the tank. T-34-85 is a Soviet medium tank of the period of the German-Soviet war. Accepted for service by the RSHA by Resolution of the DKO No. 5020 of January 23, 1944. It is the final modification of the T-34 tank of the 1943 model. The new, spacious, three-seater gun turret was developed using the structural and technological solutions implemented in the experimental T-43 tank. The installation of a more powerful 85-mm gun, in combination with a number of structural improvements, significantly increased the combat efficiency of the T-34-85 tank compared to its predecessor, the T-34-76. The new tower provided an increase in the volume of the combat compartment, the possibility of placing a more powerful 85-mm gun, a better distribution of functions between crew members and its security. With slightly increased overall armor protection due to the turret (compared to the T-34-76 tank), but insufficient compared to the heavy tanks of the enemy in 1944, the T-34-85 tank practically did not lose its former mobility and maneuverability - the main advantage medium tank in duels with Panther (medium tank) and Tiger (heavy tank).
