Mott Canyon is one of two extreme zones at Heavenly Mountain Resort and can be found on the Nevada side of the mountain. The terrain is all rated extreme double black and is made up of chutes, technical gullies and steep tree runs and is serviced by a double lift which allows for some leg recovery and the ability to spot your next line. We explored the terrain through three of the gates and found the snow in the shade to ride exceptional where as the snow exposed to the sun was frozen and rode like concrete. It took a few runs for us to feel comfortable after a few slips, the chutes are no joke when you are looking down them from the top of the canyon.
