Hopey the Huntaway X Smithfield

Hopey is a 7 year old Huntaway X Smithfield and has been coming to the farm since we began. He’s built to muster sheep over long distances, over many days through very rugged, mountainous terrain. It’s no surprise that his favourite activity at the farm is bush runs. He doesn’t like to stick to the paths, he makes his own way and it always looks like he’s right at home doing what he loves best. Back in the day Hopey was known for catching a tennis ball on the full at a long distance. You could bet your bottom dollar he’d be under it and caught before it hit the ground. These days he lets the younger dogs through and hangs more to the back of the pack for the ones that slip through the pack. Hopey is a fit boy who doesn’t like to sit still, not even for 3 minutes whilst Uncle Luke talks about him. A real farm dog through and through.
