About Aruna Sairam: Aruna Sairam has created and performed a dazzling range of South Indian classical music repertoire in varied spaces from intimate chamber settings and salon music concerts to large auditoria. (The Padma Shri is one of India’s civilian honours presented in recognition of distinguished contributions to Indian culture and society.) Her repertoire includes varying classical, semi-classical and folk music forms and genres in several languages. Her music has also provided sound for dance, film and television. By continuously interacting with international musicians, Aruna communicates through music that goes beyond geographic borders, regional contexts and cultural mores. She uses melody as a language of basic and refined human expression. http://www.arunasairam.org/ About Michael Reimann: After his first employment as a choir and orchestra conductor, he began to experiment and study exotic instruments such as the shakuhachi from Japan, the didgeridoo from Australia and the kalimba from Africa. In the current years he has presented the extraordinary instruments in his solo concert activity under the title Sounds of the World. Reimann also accompanies Joachim-Ernst Berendt at his readings and concerts and worked with Christian Bollmann in the field of overtone music. As an author, he published various textbooks on the subject of music and music CDs were created with unusual instruments such as singing bowls, the kalimba or sound pyramids. In 1997 he founded his own label Acron Music. He gives seminars on music and meditation. About Christian Bollmann: Christian Bollmann (Hof, February 19, 1949) is a singer, conductor and trumpeter from Germany. After the first tours and the musical production of his songs in the duo Midnight Circus, with Torsten Schmid, he studied trumpet with Manfred Schoof at the University of Music in Cologne. In 1969, he discovered the phenomenon of diphonic singing in a performance of the composition "Stimmung", by Karlheinz Stockhausen. Since then, they have been working with exotic musical instruments and musical technologies such as repetitions and echo.
