In this demo, FORMUS has onboarded Ava, a homeowner planning a kitchen renovation. This WEB XR recording demonstrates how FORMUS, in addition to VR headsets, will be accessible on any computer and will mirror the immersive VR experience without having to use a headset. Ava has answered a series of questions to set design and budget expectations. With FORMUS Ava is now able to walk through her planned space to experience her layout and finish selections PRIOR to construction starting. FORMUS provides an opportunity for spacial awareness along with educating Ava on how her design decisions impact project scope, budget, and timeline. In developing this Proof of Concept we focused on solving the issues that often disrupt renovations. Educating the homeowner on what they need to consider when making a design selection. Providing visuals for homeowners to experience how their selections will aesthetically come together. And creating a platform collaboration tool that will serve to minimize miscommunication between homeowners and trade professionals.
