On May 10, 1975, a Japanese conglomerate called Sony released the Betamax home video system. Throughout the late 70s and early 80s, they were in combat with the VHS, created by JVC in 1976. They may not have won, but they did leave a very good impression, and they have since earned more fans and collectors.
