We are always told to teach close-reading, but nobody ever models how to do it! Knowing this, my intention is to model how I teach it. I annotate the text on my #VibeS1 while students annotate in their workbook; I allow them to come up and interact with the whiteboard; and then I let them partner up to complete a variety of tasks through the PearDeck application. The process of close-reading be fun and engaging through the use of digital, real time platforms! My name is Alexa Borota and I am a high school English teacher; I also taught middle school English Language Arts. I am also a mom, grad student, and content creator. My goals are to share tips for teachers through a little bit of humor! Teaching is less stressful when we are supporting each other and sharing' our best practices.
