Minnesota accidentally legalized marijuana in 2022 when a legislator cast a vote and didn't realize what the bill allowed. Production processes are very different from many growers especially with respect to the use of solvents. Solventless hash produces a much higher quality product and differs significantly from gas or butane based extraction. It takes 3 lbs (1200g) of cannabis flower to produce a quarter pound of hash (125 g) and when pressed to rosin results in 60g of dab sauce. The resulting biomass makes amazing compost with loads of nitrogen. Banking is still a problem for growers. The business is still dominated by cash but some are starting to use crypto. The classification of marijuana as a schedule 1 drug is still causing problems. The planned move to Schedule 3 is likely to happen later in 2024. Businesses need stability in price. Having crypto rip up or down makes it harder for business. That's why the US dollar still dominates because prices are relatively stable over time. The free market system worked in California after Proposition 251 passed allowing medical marijuana.
