Legends abound: some claim a cross once stood within that gap, while others believe it warded off diseases as travelers crossed into new territories. Historically the stone marked the boundary between Yorkshire’s West Riding and Lancashire. In 1974, Slaidburn officially joined the Lancashire fold. Rain or shine, this ride is an absolute gem.
