Every Place Has a Story—Here’s Why It Matters | Petr Jirsa | TEDxUNYP

What if every street, every building, and every object around us had a story waiting to be uncovered? Petr Jirsa takes us on a journey through hidden narratives from Czech history, illustrating how the stories embedded in our surroundings can transform how we see the world. By sharing tales of historical and personal significance, Petr inspires us to look beyond appearances and rediscover the meaning behind the places we often take for granted. Petr is the content creator behind Česká stopa, a platform sharing stories from Czech history with thousands of followers on TikTok and Instagram. Since launching in 2022, Petr has made Czech history accessible to younger audiences, amassing over 80,000 TikTok followers. A recent graduate in International Relations from the University of New York in Prague, Petr credits his university experience with inspiring him to start his platform. He also served as Vice-President of the UNYP Student Council. This talk was given at a TEDx event using the TED conference format but independently organized by a local community.
