A day around East Renfrewshire exploring parks, and local food spots! We started with a coffee at Grain and Grind in Giffnock before heading to Rouken Glen Park for some play time for the kids. Their adventure play area is the biggest in Glasgow! Lots to explore here, there’s even a waterfall! Next to the pond, there’s The Boathouse Cafe and Restaurant where we got an excellent lunch. A haven for peace and tranquility is Greenbank Gardens in Clarkston, National Trust of Scotland members get in for free. We found a quiet spot and enjoyed treats by Fisher and Donaldson that we got from the local grocery shop, Greens of Newton Mearns. To end the day on a high, we had dinner at Golden Valley in Newton Mearns. Excellent Chinese food in a beautiful restaurant. The East Renfrewshire area of Glasgow is an ideal place to visit and to bring up a family!
