Turning this mission into a tower defense map. You start with a well established base in the western edge of the map. Your objective is to wait the timer out without losing your Fort further east. Resources in your starting position are plentiful, and the only threat are the wild animals that you need to kill for Food. You can't build Mills nor Trading Posts. Your military is a group of Shaman at your base and Shooters at the Fort. Only the Fort is under threat of capture, so don't bother protecting your base. A Totem even further west gives you view of incoming enemies. The Russians (Blue) are your enemy. They have a large army in the wester edge, and will send multiple waves your way. Their starting force includes Musketeers, Pikemen, Fusiliers, Cossacks, Dragoons, and a Frigate. They also will spawn Fusiliers in large numbers every time a Boat (that spawns from the Frigate) arrives on shore. This can be stopped by destroying the Frigate. There's Haida (Black) buildings that are of interest. The Storehouses each give a decent amount of Gold, Coal, and Iron that hill be a godsend without a Trading Post. You can even get a Trading Post if you clear out the defenders posted in and around it. This will grant you Gold in bulk, along with the trickle and enabled techs you get from having it. There's I found that using units (Archers work best) in a trickle as a delaying force while buildings shoot the enemy down with arrows (arrows kill any Russian infantry in 1 hit) before they reach the Fort is the winning formula. You will need to build a forward base along the route to the Fort with overlapping fields of fire. This is easy to do since the enemy will always use the same approach. Just make sure you maximize your Wood income and keep your buildings topped up with Peasants. The first wave will be of Musketeers and Pikemen. Your Fort can deal with these if it's well garrisoned. The second wave will be Fusiliers. Each will take 2 shots from your Fort to kill, even with your starting Shooters garrisoned, so they will be much harder to beat. After the second wave, the pressure will be near constant. The third wave will be a mix of all 3 previous units. Pikemen can push deep into any force you throw out while their ranged units can soften up your garrison from a distance. You will also be hit by a wave of Cossacks and Dragoons in 2 occasions. These can hit hard and fast and you will need to bog them down with units while your buildings shoot them down. If you capture the Trading Post and make Shooters, they can garrison the Fort and do more damage per shot (eventually capable of killing Fusiliers in a single shot). If you want to stem the tide of Fusiliers, you can try taking down the Frigate. Frigates are surprisingly fragile to Battle Canoes, so you won't need many. If you succeed, the attacks will die out, and you can even sally out to clear the Russian side of the map. Or you can wait down the timer, your choice.
