It produces a variety of tones, whines, white noise, and other sounds. Features 2 main knobs. Each controls 1 of the NAND sound generators. Light sensor/ optical theramin - change the light to affect pitch. Press blue button to toggle the sensor in and out. removable spinner, on top of the light sensor. Use it to create cool UFO effects! Tone knob - controls the overall tone and changes the sound. A/B switch - toggles a diode in and out, affecting the sound. Volume knob - controls volume, plus at high setting creates overdrive mode with different sound. Dropout - press red button to cut the output, for stutter effects. VU meter - displays current output level. LED - press white button to turn on and off; affects the sound. has internal speaker from the original kit. 1/4-inch output jack to amp powered by attached USB cord. everything is soldered in place. measures about 11x9x2"
