I have for a while now been meaning to find a way to restart having chats with photographers I have become friends with through the website. I loved making the occasional videos I used to make, but just never find the time or resource to make them. I was also somewhat limited to chatting to people who lived somewhere within a few hours drive. It recently occurred to me that I could probably get over both these limitations by just capturing a video call… so that’s exactly what I have done here. Eric is someone I’ve been chatting with for probably a few years now. We have never met or even chatted face to face before this conversation, to date it has just been via email and mostly - though not exclusively - about recent camera purchases, thoughts about the craziness of a lot of the digital camera community… and well, frankly goading each other into buying more cameras. Recently we have both realised that we are pretty happy with the kit we have. This seemed like quite a big deal so I thought we should have a chat about it via video. I asked Eric and he kindly agreed. Of course, in the end, we ended up chatting about a lot more. I have titled the video ‘A Conversation with Eric Woods - The madness in the world, community, hobbies and interests as distractions... and a bit about photography and cameras’… I’ll let you be the judge as to whether or not that covers it all! Be warned, we do touch a little on politics. Feel free to comment below if you agree or disagree with what we have to say… but just know, I will probably ignore you if you have anything negative or disagreeable to say… Else, I hope you enjoy what turned out to be a bit of a rambling conversation!
