The Beginning of the Wars with the Native Americans

Wars with Native Americans, also known as the Indian wars, were started by European colonists when settling in the vast lands of the East coast of North America. They went on throughout the 16th-19th centuries at the same time as the Seven Years' War, the War of Independence and the War of 1812. The Ottawa, Iroquois, Cherokee, Seminole, Muscogee and many other tribes participated in numerous conflicts fighting for their freedom. The stage of the wars east of the Mississippi River ended in favor of the American colonists, who actively developed new territories, often at the expense of the oppression of indigenous tribes. This is a period when treaties of cooperation did not last long, when Indian warriors proved superior to US soldiers in tactics and fighting skills, when the natives had to defend their rights and independence over and over again, just as the American colonies did in the war against the British Empire.
