Mob Lynching is becoming an epidemic to the society in recent times. Lynching refers to punish (a person) without legal process or authority, for a perceived offense or as an act of bigotry. The spate of violent attacks are in no way spontaneous expressions of mob anger. They are the product of systematic incitement to violence. In India mob lynching generally reflect internal tensions between numerous ethnic communities. Those in power assure us that breaking the law will not be tolerated and the guilty will be awarded exemplary punishment but the reality is that this assurance is not having any impact on the ground. Social media is misused by so called vigilantes and moral police to create misconception on a person or a group of people to create havoc in the society. We as responsible citizens should always authenticate if the message is genuine enough to percolate it further.
