We need to differentiate between Male Pattern Baldness and Telogen Effluvium. In Male Pattern Baldness the hair loss is from specific areas as Frontal Recession, Crown area etc. There is Miniaturization of hair followed by hair loss and Baldness. We need Minoxidil, DHT blockers, PRP etc for this. In Telogen Effluvium there is preceding Major Illness as Typhoid, Dengue, etc or major stress in life. We need good Vitamins Supplements and Minoxidil for this. In Telogen effluvium there is no pattern in which hair are lost,Hair Transplantation is not usually needed in Telogen Effluvium.There is excess shedding of hair but no Miniaturization of hair , so Hair Pull test is positive.
