Our Sea Turtles are dying by the millions from light pollution, commercial fishing, coastal development and poaching. Light pollution is something YOU can help with. Newborn hatchlings crawl toward bright lights on houses and buildings thinking that's the way home. They follow the moon and stars. Any building on or near nesting beaches can put a shield on exterior lights or simply swap a white light bulb for a red one.. This will ALSO make it safer for humans as bright lights distort what we see at night and create blind spots. Curtains should be closed at night. Turtle friendly lights are also human safety lights. It doesn't have to be complicated.
