Hey everyone! Welcome to our next lecture in our series, It’s An Emergency! We have Dr Stuart Foster; an Emergency Medicine registrar based in Broomfield Hospital, Chelmsford, UK who has worked in the Emergency Department for around 5 years. 🌐Website: https://www.uims.org/ 📷 Instagram: / uims.cz 📕 Facebook: / uims.cz 🔗LinkedIn: / uims-cz What is UIMS? UIMS is a registered non profit organisation based in the Czech Republic. We are a national collaborative network connecting the 8 medical schools in the country. UIMS board members all bring experiences from being a part of their university student organisations. We currently represent Charles University 1st Faculty (LF1 Medsoc), Charles University 2nd Faculty (AIMS), Charles University 3rd faculty (EC Trimed), Charles University Pilsen (ISMAP), Charles University Hradec Králové (ISU), Masaryk University (MIMSA), Palacky University (PEPA) and Ostrava University medical faculty. He will cover the different causes of acute abdomen, ranging from the relatively benign to the immediately life-threatening. By the end of the talk, students should feel more confident in their ability to deal with this cohort of patients; they will be equipped with the knowledge needed to differentiate between the serious and non-serious. Dr Foster is passionate about sharing his experiences of working in Emergency Medicine to guide the next generation of junior doctors on how to approach patients who present with acute, severe abdominal pain. He is an Emergency Medicine registrar based in Broomfield Hospital, Chelmsford, UK. He graduated at Leicester Medical School in 2014 and has taught medical students as an Associate Lecturer at Anglia Ruskin Medical School.
