Former chief justices around the country are speaking out about judicial independence. They’re part of the bipartisan Alliance of Former Chief Justices -- and it includes Ohio’s Maureen O’Connor. We’re talking with her today about a range of topics – from calls to “nationalize” elections and what the Constitution says to the judiciary in a time of hyper-partisanship. To her tenure on Ohio’s highest court...as the first woman to lead the judicial branch of government, from 2011 through 2022. She helped modernize the court through technological advances and brought states together to address the opioid addiction crisis on their dockets.
