From basic biking skills to one of the scariest roads in the world — I never imagined I’d cycle Bolivia’s Death Road. As a Filipina who isn’t a pro biker, this was one of the biggest challenges of my life. I rode alongside my husband while our son followed safely behind in the convoy car with the driver. There was heavy rain and even a storm at the start, and honestly, I thought I wouldn’t make it. I even fell hard at one point — our guide was so worried he thought I broke a bone (thankfully just bruises and I was totally fine). Despite the fear, the mud, and the nerves… it turned out to be one of the most unforgettable adventures of my life. So if you’re hesitating — yes, it’s scary, but it’s absolutely worth trying. Just go slow, stay careful, and believe you can do it. If I made it through Death Road in the rain as a non-pro biker, you can too. 💛
