ANOTHER SUCCESS! | T&T’s 6th Annual Health Research Conference — NHRC 2025 The 2025 National Health Research Conference brought together Trinidad and Tobago’s top minds in health research, policy, and practice on Tuesday, 25th November 2025. Partners across the nation united to push forward evidence-based health solutions that strengthen systems and impact lives. A national collaboration between The Faculty of Medical Sciences & Caribbean Centre for Health Systems Research and Development (UWI), The University of Trinidad and Tobago, The University of the Southern Caribbean, Regional Health Authorities, the Ministry of Health, Tobago House of Assembly, and the Trinidad and Tobago National Nursing Association made this year’s event one of the most impactful yet. Special Acknowledgement The Honourable Dr. Lackram Bodoe, Minister of Health of Trinidad and Tobago, offered support and leadership throughout the conference, reinforcing the government’s commitment to advancing research and strengthening health systems. What We Celebrated Sharing cutting-edge health research with policymakers, care providers, students, and the public Strengthening the national culture of health research Building capacity and mentoring junior investigators Fostering collaboration across institutions Delivering policy-relevant findings to decision-makers Featured Speaker Dr. Daniel Buss of the Pan American Health Organization joined virtually to deliver a powerful presentation on “Climate Change, Environment and Public Health in the Americas.” Lifetime Achievement Honour This year’s Research for Health Lifetime Achievement Award was presented to Professor Sandra Reid of The University of the West Indies for over 30 years of distinguished work in public health and psychiatry. Audience & Attendees Medical professionals, researchers, policymakers, university staff and students, regional health leaders, and members of the general public joined us for this enriching and forward-looking event.
