Winter has officially arrived and my indoor jungle feels completely different already. December is always that moment where the conservatory shifts, the light dips, the temperature drops and my plants start telling the truth. Some of them are thriving in ways I honestly didn't expect, and some... well, they are definitely feeling the season. In this December 2025 Indoor Jungle Update, I’m taking you through everything that has changed, the good moments and the not so pretty ones. I know a lot of us feel that quiet panic when we see yellow leaves or slowed growth this time of year, so I wanted to show the real side of winter care. Nothing staged, nothing perfect, just what’s actually happening with my plants right now. You’ll see which plants struggled first as the cold came in, which rare tropicals surprised me, and which ones need a little extra help to push through the darker days. If you own houseplants, especially rare ones, you’ll probably recognize a lot of what I’m dealing with. I’m also giving much requested updates on my recent Black Friday plant haul, including how those new additions are settling in and which ones are already throwing curveballs at me. Some of these rare beauties are dramatic in the best way, and a couple are definitely testing me a bit this month. For anyone trying to keep their collection growing through winter, I’m sharing the exact grow light settings that are helping me keep things stable and even encourage new growth in the colder months. I go into the dialed-in adjustments you can make to get better results without overheating your space or stressing your plants. And yes, I’m finally talking in detail about the lesser known trick I use to keep my Anthuriums happy even in winter. It’s simple, a bit underrated, but honestly one of the reasons my plants don’t completely stall out this time of year. If you love Anthuriums or collect rare varieties, you’ll want to hear this part. My goal with this video is to make winter feel less intimidating and more like a season you can work with instead of fight against. Plants slow down, they shift, they complain a little, but they also surprise you when you give them the right conditions. I think it helps to see that not everything is perfect all the time, and that’s completely normal.
