I wanted to honor a friend, a husband, a father, a brother, and one hell of a marine—and bring more awareness to just how out of control the epidemic of veteran suicide is. Twenty-two a day is the number given by the VA, likely higher. There's obviously something that has to change. It's affected so many lives. We have to have a better support system. Veterans sacrifice so much for our country and freedom—the least we could do is let them know they're not alone and provide a better transition back to civilian life. I'm so excited to have partnered with BKVF, an organization I've seen in action first hand, to receive all the proceeds this song will bring.
