I’m often asked the same questions: Why aren’t you married? Don’t you want kids? Is your clock ticking? At 43, being single and never having been married still seems to confuse people. In this video, I share a story from my time working as a hospice nurse that completely changed how I think about relationships, marriage, and the fear many people have about “dying alone.” One of my patients lived to be over 100 years old. She never married and never had children. Yet the life she lived was full of adventure, love, and meaning. A moment with her on her deathbed shifted something in me. It made me realize that love doesn’t only exist in marriage or parenthood. Love can show up through friendships, family, experiences, and the many people we connect with throughout our lives.
