Physical chemistry it typically studied for 2 or 3 semesters by undergraduate chemistry students. Prerequisites include general chemistry, general physics, algebra, trigonometry, and calculus. Subdivisions of physical chemistry include quantum chemistry, spectroscopy, thermodynamics, kinetics, and statistical mechanics.
