On my recent 2-week stay in Thamel, Kathamandu in July 2024, one of my favourite places to visit was the Kathmandu Darbar Square or as the locals call it "Basantapur" palace. It is a historically and culturally significant site in Kathmandu, Nepal. It is one of the three Darbar (royal palace) Squares in the Kathmandu Valley and is also a UNESCO World Heritage Site. The square dates back to the 3rd century but most of the major structures we see today were built later in the 16th century. There are a number of temples and a beautiful palace complex built during the reign of the Malla and the Shah dynasties who ruled Nepal. In this video you will find me exploring the place at different times of the day (in early morning hours, in the afternoon under the sun and in the evening), as I try to capture the beauty & alure of this majestic place. I hope it gives you a sense of what to expect when planning the right time of the day for your trip. জুলাই মাসে আমার ২ সপ্তাহ কাঠমান্ডু থাকাকালীন সময়ে একটি জায়গা আমার খুবই প্রিয় ছিল, তা হল কাঠমান্ডু দরবার স্কোয়ার বা স্থানীয়দের ভাষায় যেটা বসন্তপুর। ঐতিহাসিক ভাবে এটি কাঠমান্ডুর খুবই গুরুত্বপূর্ণ স্থান। এটি কাঠমান্ডু ভ্যালীর তিনটি রাজ দরবারের একটি ও একটি UNESCO ওয়ার্ল্ড হেরিটেজ সাইট । এর যাত্রা শুরু ৩য় শতাব্দী থেকে, যদিও এখন যেসব স্থাপনা দেখা যায় তা সবই ১৬ শতাব্দীতে বানানো। এখনে প্রচুর মন্দির ও একটি আকর্ষণীয় রাজ প্রাসাদ আছে যা নেপালের মাল্লা ও শাহ রাজবংশের রাজত্বকালে নির্মিত। এই ভিডিওতে আপনারা দিনের বিভিন্ন সময়ে এই এলাকায় ভ্রমণের ও সৌন্দর্য উপভোগের সুযোগ পাবেন যা আশাকরি আপনার ভবিষ্যৎ ভ্রমণের পরিকল্পনায় সাহায্য করতে পারে।
