24-Hour Carp Fishing at Twynersh Fishery (Old Match Lake)

This carp fishing session was filmed in mid-July during a week of intense 30°C heat at Twynersh Fishery in Surrey. I fished a 24-hour session on the Old Match Lake, using a free voucher kindly provided by Stoney and Friends. The hot conditions made the fishing tough, with very few bites. But just after 4:30 a.m., one of my rods ripped off, and I landed a stunning, dark, hard-fighting common carp of around 13–14lb. The fish gave me a proper battle in the lily pads on barbless hooks, making the catch even more rewarding. Although the rest of the session was quiet, the peaceful surroundings and beautiful setting made it an amazing trip. Twynersh Fishery is one of the best-kept venues in Surrey, and I’ll definitely return when conditions are more favorable.
