“This Is dire times..." Artisan soft cheese makers Caws Cenarth seemingly had a robust and successful business but this changed dramatically in March 2020 when COVID:19 hit the UK. Carwyn Adams, owner of the family business, went online for the first time and posted a YouTube video to tell their customers that they had to close the factory and offered to give away the cheese rather than let it go to waste. This authentic and heartfelt communication had an amazing 30,000 + views. The phone didn’t stop ringing, the orders flooded in and the business sold out in 3 days. Carwyn’s authentic and resonant plea for help gained 3,000 new customers and inspired him and his staff to adapt and develop their business model to cater to this new customer base. The power of the YouTube video inspired film maker Ross Anderson to buy some of Carwyn’s cheese, and make a film to document this pivotal moment economically, for Caws Cenarth and the country.
