Nathan Steele High-Rise Full Review Transcript: Right from the beginning of director Ben Wheatley's new movie high-rise I was just dazzled by its brilliance it's set in a tower block the high rise of the title where the residents start to go collectively nuts and to just tear each other apart it becomes a sort of class war of sorts between the have nots at the bottom through the haves right at the top in the penthouse apartment lives architect played by jeremy irons he has a roof garden so big that his wife rides around it on a horse and it has that sense of surrealism and unease because of those images that are presented to you .the doctor is the central character played by Tom Hiddleston right from when he arrives you're aware of this phenomenal production design of this film the concrete of the walls the supermarket the gym the pool that are all inside this tower block which gradually start to decay from within it all looks like a coffee table book of photographs taken by Stanley Kubrick Of course it has a relationship with that director but also it has that feeling that David Cronenberg's early films have of cold horror of modernity like Cronenberg this film is going to divide people but I just thought it was chilling and beautiful and quite brilliant.
