Universal offers a variety of production services ranging from set lighting and grip to property and special effects are available for productions on or off lot. The Universal Costume Department offers a multitude of services to costumers and designers for every area of film work: movies, television, commercials, videos and stills. Besides the 27 double hung rows of rentable clothing and costumes, we offer office space and cage space, walkabout costumes, armor and specialty costumes, women’s and men’s tailoring and dressmaking, a Gold Room of higher end clothing, and dressing rooms for fitting actors. Costume projects working out of our offices have 24/7 access to their offices and cages, the laundry room and dye facility. The Weld Shop is certified by the City of Los Angeles and has a Type 1 Fabricator License. Rehearsal Halls are located near our sound stages and can be used for table reads, meetings, crew feeding, prop/costume rooms or to fit any other needs. All rehearsal halls have high speed internet and wireless capability. Transportation Department has a complete inventory to support your production needs at competitive rates. We supply vehicles for transporting production equipment for location use, and for almost any other purpose you can think of. For your convenience Universal Studios offers a variety of dressing rooms for your talent and holding needs. Each dressing room has a sitting area complete with plush furniture, a bathroom with a shower and a closet. Wireless internet is also available in every room. At Universal we provide great accommodations and amenities, and pride ourselves on our superb customer service. Upon renting office space, you will be assigned a liaison who can resolve any office related issues or needs. Office space ranges from 550 sq ft to 11,500 sq ft. Universal’s Set Lighting and Grip departments have the finest state-of-the-art inventory of lighting and grip equipment in stock to meet all of your productions’ lighting requirements. Our extensive inventory also includes hard to find, custom made equipment. Under the direction of Willi Schmidt, Vice President of Stage and Backlot Operations, Universal Studios Production Services provides a Production Representative to every client who shoots on the lot. Each rep acts as a liaison between all of the production service departments and the client, making any question or issue only one phone call away. Their experience lends educated expertise to the production, providing unmatched service in a timely fashion. The Graphic Design & Sign Shop featuring a team of gifted graphic artists who offer full design services for productions and other industry clients. NBC/Universal Paint Department specializes in any and all paint applications/techniques for productions or other industry needs. Leading the trade with compliant paint coatings and can educate as well on any changes and/or improvements on the ever-changing rules and regulations. NBC Universal Property Department offers an impressive array of special effects tools for production and special events professionals. Our team can help you create unique environments with dynamic Wind, Rain, Fire, Snow, Fog, Smoke and Bubble effects. The Labor Department assists before and after production with set construction, striking sets, cleaning up and performing labor functions around the facility. They also offer delivery services and provide furniture delivery and exchange. The Property Department houses the largest and most diverse selection of props in the industry. We have three spacious showroom floors with one of the largest hand prop inventories in the industry, complete selections of furniture, household items, office and restaurant equipment, statues and more… The Staff Shop creates a variety of custom fabrication and construction of flex moldings, fiberglass casting and more.
