Viking Gnome, how I made it.

www.tonykennah.co.uk This is how I turn my Viking gnomes on my lathe, they are made out of recycled wood. all the parts are hand made by myself, The shields are all turned on the lathe and the weapons are all hand made. The wood stains are just water with drawing ink added to get different shades, cheap, limitless colours and effective. I make my own friction polish using Isopropyl alcohol, blonde shellac flakes, and Boiled linseed oil, mixed in equal amounts, dissolve the flakes in the 99% Isopropyl alcohol first, I use mason jars and keep shaking them every 10 mins or so until the flakes are all dissolved, then add the Boiled linseed oil.( if you dont add the Boiled linseed oil, it is a great sanding sealer ) The fake fur for the beards I got on e.bay.
