It's been a year since corporate America pledged to focus on diversity. A recent analysis shows some progress is being made in boardrooms, though the level remains low. According to ISS Corporate Solutions, there was a near 200% increase in Black appointments to the boards of S&P 500 companies, jumping to 148 for the period between July 2020 and May 2021. Sherrilyn Ifill, president and director-counsel of the NAACP Legal Defense and Educational Fund, joined "Squawk Box" on Wednesday to discuss what she would like to see from corporate America when it comes to speaking out about diversity, equity and inclusion.
