In the linings and coating industries, adhesion ("pull") testing is often used to determine or confirm that the lining system is adhered properly to the substrates to which they are applied. This is a critical quality control measurement Abtrex employs to assure our customers that they are receiving the optimal lining system. We test for adhesion on a 6” x 6” test coupon (sample square) in accordance with ASTM D429, which simulates the same lining process that the equipment, or tank, went through. This process includes surface preparation, primers and adhesives, rubber materials and the curing process. By completing this destructive testing on a test coupon produced in the same manner, Abtrex can confirm the desired lining properties without harming our customer’s equipment. #rubberlining #tanklining #pulltest #adhesiontest #qualitycontrol
