We fell in love with the neglected 300 year old stone farmhouse without a roof and crumbling interior , with its stunning vaulted ceilings, where once animals lived and a farming family above . This is our story to sympathetically restore the farmhouse bringing life back to this forgotten building , recycling and reclaiming and using original materials when possible . After a long struggle to build ourselves which appeared almost impossible , with the help of our architect we formed our own construction company so we can solely and lovingly restore Brambletye., taking guidance from the architect adhering to planning and seismic requirements in Italy . We learn new skills to accomplish this task, support each other on this adventurous build. The olive grove we have learnt to care for and pick olives like our neighbours and produce our olive oil. The land is rich so we created raised beds for a vegetable garden , which produces seasonal vegetables all year round. We visit and explore local life in Italy learning the language with our dog Button.
