Citizen Science Drug Discovery; updates from Swab and Send Adam Roberts is a reader in Antimicrobial Chemotherapy and Resistance at the Liverpool School of Tropical Medicine. He has been investigating the fundamental mechanisms of transferable antimicrobial resistance for more than 20 years, and more recently has focussed more on translational aspects of AMR and early stage drug discovery and development. Dr Adam and his group's research activities have led to more than 100 peer reviewed publications and reviews in the antimicrobial chemotherapy and resistance space. He set up and runs The Transposon Registry and the ongoing, award winning citizen-science, drug-discovery project Swab and Send which will form the basis of his talk today. He is the coordinator of the JPIAMR funded Network of European and African Researchers on AMR (called NEAR-AMR), is an advisor to the Longitude Prize in the UK and the Drug Resistance policy advisor to the Royal Society of Tropical Medicine and Hygiene. This is a presentation from the Antibiotic Discovery Accelerator Network (ABX) virtual meeting held on 16th December 2020.
