I was contacted by Robert Kral, who found my website at https://anniesminis.com - where I shared photos and details about building the Dura-Craft Heritage dollhouse kit many years ago. Robert generously gave me permission to share this with the world. He wrote: "Years ago I built the Heritage for my daughter. It aged and was in need of a rehab. I did a before and after video and attached a copy of the file for you to see. The rehab involved my wife's decorations and design consultation, which was free to me (I negotiated it down from a discount). I agree with you that stairways are best left to the imagination. I, too, found parts must be painted first and then assembled. I also agree that interior walls must be a compromise between visual/hand access and wall space for furniture. The windows in my dollhouse all work. Sand, prime with Kilz, paint with a spray. Latex builds up too thick. You don't want the thin wood to swell and warp. This is indoors arts and crafts. No need to use latex. Thanks for the tips on glues. Wallpapering was done with acid free card stock cut precisely to wrap into the interior (removable). Once the card stock sections were finished, wallpaper was glued on and trimmed (patterns were matched) and the finished card stock sections were glued in place in the house. Worked well for me."
