This week plant lovers: a first!!! My Coelogyne Unchained Melody is in bloom and it's the first of this genus I've managed to get to flower so I'm very excited! It has a beautiful habit and is relatively easy to grow - I kind of just leave it to it's own devices in a shady spot outside undercover with an occasional misting! Of course now I'm Coelogyne obsessed and MAY have ordered two more..... As the tag was missing when I received it I mistakenly thought it was Coelogyne flaccida, but it is Unchained Melody - so bear with me calling it the wrong thing throughout this video!! Coelogyne Unchained Melody is a hybrid between Coelogyne cristata & Coelogyne flaccida.
