The mattress is an excellent choice for most side sleepers and back sleepers, as well as those with active lifestyles looking to boost their recovery. The Molecule 1 is an all-foam mattress with a firmness rating of around 6 on our 10-point firmness scale. +With three layers of memory foam, the Molecule is ideal for sleepers who want a medium-firm mattress that also conforms to their body. +Side sleepers — and most light-weight sleepers — can expect plush cushioning and very good pressure relief. +The Molecule is engineered to promote rest and muscle recovery, making this an excellent choice for those who lead active lifestyles. -The medium-firm construction may not be firm enough to support most stomach sleepers. -And, like most all-foam mattresses, the edges of the Molecule compress when pressure is applied, which could be an issue for those with difficulties getting in or out of bed. The Molecule 1 is available in all six standard sizes and is backed by a lifetime warranty. You can purchase the Molecule directly through the brand’s website, and at select third-party retailers such as Costco, Home Depot, and Target. Shipping is free within the contiguous United States, and an additional fee applies to orders sent to Alaska and Hawaii. Buyers receive a 100-night sleep trial. White glove delivery is not available. The Molecule 1 is an all-foam mattress made up of 3 layers, and totaling 12 and a quarter inches in height. The top layer is 2 inches of a gel-infused, open cell memory foam — what the brand calls “RestoreFlo” memory foam. This layer promotes airflow and helps eliminate the build-up of heat around the body. The transition layer is 3 inches of the brand’s “RecoveryFlo” memory foam. This layer has three zones to help alleviate pressure and provide targeted support. For example, the foam is softer near the head and feet; while the center zone is firmer to provide good support for the lumbar. The support core is 7 inches of Molecule’s “ContourFlo” polyfoam. This is a firm, dense polyfoam that promotes healthy spinal alignment. It also is breathable to give even more cooling to the mattress. Finally, the mattress is wrapped in a temperature-sensitive polymer cover that adjusts to your body temperature and wicks away heat and moisture. With thick foam layers and a unique, zoned transition layer, the Molecule is ideal for side sleepers and back sleepers under 230 pounds. We can’t recommend the Molecule for stomach sleepers over 130 pounds, but lightweight stomach sleepers should be comfortable. With foam that is designed to conform to key areas of the body such as the neck and spine, the Molecule offers above average pressure relief. This bed also eliminates most motion transfer, giving it an above average rating for motion isolation. The lack of a reinforced perimeter results in fair edge support. Finally, the Molecule’s open cell memory foam and unique cover help regulate temperature better than many all-foam mattresses. Still, the Molecule earns a rating of average for temperature control.
