When we describe transport vibration, we typically use Power Spectral Density (PSD) plots to define meaningful characteristics (frequency bandwidth, amplitude within discreet frequency bandwidth bins, and overall spectrum intensity). Another common, maybe simpler way of describing a PSD is in-terms of its shape and intensity. Transport data captured in the field can be summarized in term of PSD plots. Those same PSD summaries can be used to drive laboratory vibration tables. Industry test standards, such as those with ISTA and ASTM D10 also reference PSD standard profiles to simulate various transport modes. The type of transport vehicle (truck, train, aircraft), the load within that transport vehicle and the surface(s) over which the vehicle travels all influence the resulting shape of a given PSD profile, as well as its corresponding intensity. This webinar will discuss random vibration testing applications, providing live laboratory demonstrations using PSD test profiles. What we’ll discuss: Relevant test standards Actual live system overview and operational demonstration Random input – power spectral density plots (PSDs) How to interpret and use PSDs to simulate transport environments Field-to-Lab capability and implementation Who should watch it?
